The design inspiration for this project stems from the desire to create a sense of tranquility and belonging in the midst of today's fast-paced life. The design team aimed to allow individuals to experience the charm of Chinese landscapes without leaving their homes. The result is the Longting Courtyard, a unique interpretation of traditional Chinese culture that stands out amongst modern home styles.
One of the unique properties of this design is the integration of four thematic spaces - qin (a type of Chinese musical instrument), chess, calligraphy, and painting. These elements, combined with the use of indoor and outdoor elements, create a visual effect and spiritual connotation that are highly synchronized. The design team utilized a variety of materials and techniques, including porcelain, green flowers and trees, traditional ink paintings, and guqin, paper umbrellas, and lantern art bronze beasts. The use of relief, paper-cut iron art, and the preparation of lamps and other arts and crafts is also present.
The design features 98 different patterns, different specifications of the rolling curtain, and a bird headlamp made of 128 pieces of glass. The bird headlamp, which is 3.3 meters wide and 7 meters long, is a giant artistic chandelier that beautifully dives into the space. The design also includes tea sets and piano sets to facilitate visitors' rest, and the choice of jewelry and sculpture showcases ingenuity in every corner.
The design process involved face-to-face communication between the designer and the customer to understand the deep-seated characteristics of the owner and the color relationship and color tone of the hard-packed site. The shades with higher gray scale were used to highlight the sense of high quality and align with the traditional Chinese painting color. The project started in August 2018 in Yingkou and finished in October 2018 in Yingkou.
The Minmetals Platinum Courtyard is located in the core area of China's coastal industrial base, with Chenghu Lake in the north and Liaodong Bay in the south. The location is excellent, transportation is convenient, planning is mature, and has good development prospects. In the fast-paced modern life, themes of the natural, pure land give an escape to the chaos. The design creates a world where one can not only enjoy the convenience of contemporary life, but also return to the true, return to the heart, and truly achieve tranquility of the soul.
The design faced the challenge of inheriting humanities and innovations. "The Riverside Scene at Qingming Festival" combines Chinese painting with modern art in the form of a three-dimensional sculpture of metal. The painting of the landscape of the mountain waters occupies the center of gravity of the space, depicting a vivid and lush elegance, presenting beauty of a form that is both inherited and independent of the times. Based on this, using the most natural posture to consolidate the eternality of time. The design was awarded Golden in A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2020.
